Story Starters
Start a story with a sound:
” “Whoosh!”
“Drip, drip, drip . . . “
“Crunch!"
Use a refrain, such as, "I would never do that!"
Start or end your story with "Oh no, not again!" Or, start and end your story with that sentence.
What does your main character sneak? Why? Is she/he caught? Is she proud? Is he apologetic?
Rewrite a classic fairytale or story, using animal characters that are different than those in the original.
Put yourself in the shoes of a 6-year old who is beside an inviting stream.
Start with "That's too fast!"
